SUMMARY:Alpenbrevet Odyssey Social Ride
DESCRIPTION:Second social ride for the Alpenbrevet Odyssey.\nThis is one of my classic « adventure » rides. It’s challenging but worth the effort. The Emosson climb and lake are breathtaking. Your effort is rewarded with a nearly 360° panorama of the alps and famous peaks of the region, including Mont Blanc. But rarely do we visit it as by road it requires going over the Forclaz, either via a busy road or the incredibly steep old road. And then it’s just an out and back…how boring!\nBut there is another way for the adventurous. Between Les Marecottes and Finhaut is a gravel track. It’s steep and gravely. By road bike it will certainly require some walking (bring VTT shoes or a pair of sandals for walking if you dont want to get your road shoes dirty). But it’s a short segment and definetly worth the effort to discover this forgotten valley and visit Emosson with a loop!\nAnd if 2000 metres of climbing feels like too much this early in the season, no need to worry: you can always catch the train in Finhaut 😉\nOpen to participants, ladies interested in participating in the Alpenbrevet, and friends.
